On June 1st, Pas-de-Calais Tourisme organized a creative event in the Around Louvre-Lens destination: a Photo Marathon in the city of Lens. Despite the rainy weather, 28 photography enthusiasts braved the rain to participate in this creative and enriching day.
A Day of Discovery and Creativity
The rain did not dampen the participants’ enthusiasm. Armed with their cameras and smartphones, they roamed the city in search of the best shots, exploring iconic places such as the Louvre-Lens and lesser-known neighborhoods. This day was a true opportunity to discover Lens from a new perspective and capture the beauty of the post-industrial mining heritage.
Creative Challenges Met with Brilliance
The Photo Marathon presented a series of creative challenges to the participants, each structured around six imposed themes: 1) In the North, it was the mining towns, 2) Around Living Things, 3) Well Seen!, 4) Stories of Reflections, 5) The Imagination of the memory, and 6) Writing the Future. Each theme was designed to stimulate the photographers’ imagination and push them to explore different aspects of their environment. The photographers met each challenge brilliantly, proving that the passion for photography can transcend the elements.
Congratulations to the Winners
At the end of the day, the photos were reviewed by a jury. The best photos will be revealed during an awards ceremony. Subsequently, they will be showcased on the Pas-de-Calais Tourisme website. We warmly congratulate the photographers for their exceptional shots and look forward to sharing them with a wider audience.
A Big Thank You
We want to thank all the participants for their engagement and positive spirit. Your passion and creativity made this Photo Marathon a true success. A special thank you to the Lens-Liévin local mission group for their involvement and to photographer Jean-Michel André, whose dedication was crucial to the success of this event. We look forward to seeing you at our future events and continuing to celebrate the beauty of Pas-de-Calais and the art of photography together.
